Hello, Tennis Family,
I just got back from the MRTC Farewell Dinner and it was a big success. The food was delicious and bountiful, the Racquets provided the rousing entertainment, and there were about 120 in attendance. Thanks to Deb and Michael Downey for hosting, along with their capable crew of volunteers.
The MRTC had three teams in the finals at the SSV Mixed Doubles Tournament today. They played under clear skies but in breezy conditions. Here are the results:
Dale Haigh and Catherine DeGrandpre battled a team from SSV in the 3.0S division consolation round finals. They both played very well. They won in a match tiebreaker and brought home a BRONZE MEDAL! Congratulations, Dale and Catherine!
Rob Platford and Pat O’Flaherty played in the 3.5S division consolation finals against a team from LW. The wind proved a bit of a challenge but they persevered and won in a match tiebreaker as well, earning a BRONZE MEDAL! Well done, Rob and Pat!
Ralph and Audrey Winkler came up against a talented team from SSV in the 2.0S division consolation finals. Their opponents charged to a big lead winning the first set. But Audrey and Ralph battled back and took the second set. Then, they made a big comeback in the match tiebreaker to win and bring home a BRONZE MEDAL! Congratulations, Ralph and Audrey! It’s great you two have the opportunity to play together!
